June Pinterest Monthly Trends and Tips on Black Chalkboard

The best Pinterest trends and tips for food bloggers to focus on for the month of June to increase traffic to their page and website!

Happy almost June!! This post is a little early because Andrew and I will be getting MARRIED on June 1st so I’m going to be a little busy! 🙂 I’ve been frantically working ahead on my blog posts and Pinterest scheduling for the month of June so that I can thoroughly relax on our highly anticipated, well deserved, very much needed 2-week honeymoon! 🙂

In case you’re new to my monthly guides, each month I will share a post that highlights all of the Pinterest food-related trends that I believe to be the most important for food bloggers to focus on that month, so that they may fully utilize Pinterest to increase their traffic. I’ll also be sharing some tips and tricks each month that you can use to help you improve your Pinterest page!

The best way to utilize this information is to create and push out new content that emphasizes these ingredients and/or topics and recycle any old content that you have by republishing the pins and recycling them onto your personal boards, group boards, and Tailwind tribes to help increase their traffic. Also, when pinning content from other bloggers, keep these trends in mind and try to focus on adding this type of content to your boards since this is the type of information that users are going to be searching for. The more you provide users with what they are looking for the better your traffic will be!

If you find these tips helpful, please be sure to subscribe to my email list so that you will receive an update right to your inbox when I post a new monthly trend and tip post! (Plus, you’ll get some scrumptious recipes in there, too! 🙂 )

In April and early May, Pinterest Analytics were taking a plummet for many food bloggers. Currently, I am starting to see them creep back up for most accounts and even skyrocket for others. (Again, no rhyme or reason, Pinterest is a fickle devil.) I am hoping this is a sign of good things to come! How has everyone else in food blog land been doing with their numbers and traffic?

Pro tip: The links in this post are linked to some of my most popular relevant pins according to my Tailwind pin inspector. Repinning them would help boost your monthly views/traffic! 🙂

Expected Trends

Unexpected Trends

  • Camping Recipes
    • One thing you may not have thought of this month (or ever), but that I keep seeing pop up on Pinterest is camping friendly recipes! With the weather warming up, people will be heading to campgrounds soon and searching for recipes they can take with them! Anything from breakfasts to cook over a fire, easy to pack camping-friendly lunches, campfire desserts, and even unique batches of booze to share!

Holidays/Important Events

In Season Produce

Naturally you’ll want to focus on any produce that is currently in season each month! To help with this, I am going to be putting together a monthly seasonal produce guide (with tips on how to choose, store, and cook with each ingredient!) My June produce guide can be found here, with associated recipes, but here is a list of in-season produce to focus on:

  • Arugula
  • Avocados
  • Cherries
  • Mushrooms
  • Peas
  • Raspberries
  • Watermelon
  • Zucchini

Top 3 Tips for June

Here are my top 3 Pinterest tips for this month!

  1. Participate in Tailwind Tribes
    • If you’re not familiar with Tailwind Tribes they are like Pinterest group boards that function behind the scenes of Tailwind so you can share content with other bloggers who have similar content and interests without clogging up your Pinterest page with more boards (although I’m still a fan of appropriately utilized group boards). Tribes can be found within your Tailwind desktop, just make sure you follow the rules of each Tribe and share as much content as you’re supposed to! I find Tribes to be the fastest way to schedule out content, the best way to find new, unique, interesting content, and one of the best ways to generate traffic for pins.
  2. Make sure your website has a share button
    • This might seem obvious, but I see a ton of food blogs that have no easy way to share their content on Pinterest. Make sure you have active share buttons on your site, and check them frequently to make sure they are working properly! I have Social Pug currently installed on my site and I am SO happy with them!
  3. Set appropriate descriptions for easy sharing
    • For a long time I didn’t care about setting my Pinterest descriptions within my social sharing button options. I guess I figured that as long as my images were on Pinterest and linking back to my site, it didn’t really matter what the description was. Now that I have more experience with SEO and higher traffic to my site, I realize how important it is to have proper Pinterest descriptions saving to each image that is saved off of my site so that I am fully utilizing my keywords and hashtags as much as possible to help drive traffic. So make sure for each post, that you are setting a Pinterest description that includes your complete description with keywords and hashtags! (Each plugin works differently, but this option is typically found below each post in WordPress!)
